Iranian film editor to serve on jury at Tallinn Black Nights

Iran’s Hayedeh Safiyari is named as a juror at the 26th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.

Iran’s female film editor Hayedeh Safiyari has been named as a juror at the 26th edition of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (POFF) in Estonia.

Safiyari, a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will serve on the jury at the festival’s official competition.

It would be the second time Safiyari judges films at the Estonian event, as it served as a juror at the POFF last year.

Safiyari has edited more than 90 feature fiction films and several documentaries, and won several awards at different international events.

Her long-time collaboration with Iranian director Asghar Farhadi has gained her more fame. She edited Farhadi’s two Oscar-winning films ‘A Separation’ and ‘The Salesman’.

The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival is “one of the biggest film festivals in Northern Europe” and one of the most important in the world, website of the event reads.

The 26th edition of the POFF will take place on November 11-27.
